Poetry on
Brick Street
will present Kevin Marshall Chopson from
Gallatin, Tennessee, as the featured
guest poet at its monthly event at 6:30 p.m., Thursday July 1st , 2010 at G.
Simone’s Café; 120 South Main Street in downtown Zionsville, Indiana.
Cynthia
Brackett-Vincent, editor of the New England journal the Aurorean, has called his work “beautifully imagistic.”
Artist’s
statement: “As a lyric poet, the music of the language itself is as important
to me as the figurative expression of the ideas. In regards to content, I
compare my poems to painters’ still lifes, wherein I attempt to catch a glimpse
of truth between the play of shadow and light in small scenes.”
An Open “mic” for poets will follow the
featured speaker.
